About Us
Montreal
has one of the largest and most talented artistic communities dedicated to baroque music in North America. The quality of performances and the audience's response are remarkable. This is why the Bach Académie de Montréal created the Montreal Bach Festival; a unique event where artists and scholars from around the world gather to celebrate baroque music and the work of musical marvel Johann Sebastian Bach. After a very successful first edition in December 2005, acclaimed both by the public and the critics, the Festival has the means to become an international reference, just like the Leipzig, Ansbach, Oregon and London festivals.
The Bach-Académie de Montréal is based on three fundamental components: performance, scholarship, and education. These components are reflected in the festival program diversity: concerts, symposium, pre-concert lectures, and master classes in affiliation with universities and music schools.
